In October 2005 I was invited by Archbishop Andrei of Alba Iulia to participate to the consecration of an Orthodox church in a small town of Transylvania, about 50 miles from Alba Iulia, the city where I was born and grew up. There was in fact a church there for about 100 years, but during 2003-2005 was enlarged and entirely renovated.
It was the first time in my life when I participated in the consecration of an Orthodox Church.
This was obviously a very important event in the life of the town. We had about 20 priests there, the mayor and a very large crowd. The service lasted about 3 hours (including the Holy Liturgy) and it was followed by a lunch.
Please enjoy reading this chronicle of the consecration.
